This painting was a combination of very many places and flowers that I love. Masses and masses of Chrismisrose and St Joseph's lilies combined with my memories of the Botanical Gardens I visited.
I painted the figure of the woman first as a small study in grays with dark hairs. This turned into a blond girl in a pink dress. The shady areas and flowers worked very well in this painting
